Featured Speaker: Troy Bergstrom, Chief of Police - Roseville Police Department

Topic: How Roseville Police Department's Real Time Crime Center and patrol work combat crime in the City of Roseville

Presentation Takeaways: Response to crime has transformed from traditional officer response to a combination of officers and real time use of technology to respond to crime as it’s occurring. Attendees will gain insight into how the Roseville Police Department utilizes our Real Time Crime Center in response to crime in helping keep our city safe.

Speaker Bio:

Troy Bergstrom has been a police officer since 1995 when he joined the San Mateo Police Department. He transferred to the Roseville Police Department in 2000 where he rose through the ranks from Officer to Sergeant to Lieutenant to Captain. Throughout his career, Chief Bergstrom has overseen nearly every unit within the Police Department culminating in his selection as Chief of Police in March of 2021. Some of his more notable assignments include being the first Sergeant of the Crime Suppression Unit, serving ten years as the commander of the Special Operations Unit consisting of teams like SWAT, the Bomb Squad, the Crisis Negotiation Team, and the Unmanned Aerial Systems Team, and many years in Operations Units like Patrol, K-9, and Field Training.

Chief Bergstrom is a two time graduate of Sacramento State University with both Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, a ten week executive leadership program located in Quantico Virginia.

Chief Bergstrom is a member of several organizations including the International Association of Chief’s of Police and the FBI National Academy Association and serves as a board member for the California Chiefs of Police Association, Placer Law Enforcement Agencies Executive Committee, and the Roseville Police Activities League.

As Chief of Police, Chief Bergstrom oversees the 225 members of the Roseville Police Department including oversight of the Department’s $59 million budget.
